Description
LA Transit Token Cufflinks
Designed for the discriminating man, these sterling silver antique cufflinks feature vintage Los Angeles transit tokens.
Remember when a train ride and a cup of coffee were both the same price? Remember having a pocketful of tokens? These beautifully designed antique cufflinks will delight all Los Angeles buffs.
Public transit began in LA in 1874 with the use of a horse-car system which ran on tracks for 10 cents a ride. Not until 1960 were these dime-sized tokens first minted. Today, these tokens still possess an art deco appeal. Set in sterling silver, these cufflinks are fun and elegant.
Each set of LA cufflinks use authentic transit tokens. Each set consists of two different views of the classic transit token. One of the two tokens reads "Metropolitan Transit Authority of Los Angeles" and the other reads "Good For One Fare."
Presented in a handsome padded flip-open box with velvet and satin interior lining and a map of LA's subway lines on the top.
Makes a great gift!
