Boston Underground Token Cufflinks
Designed for the discriminating man, these sterling silver antique cufflinks feature vintage Boston Underground tokens.
Remember when a train ride and a cup of coffee were both the same price? Remember having a pocketful of tokens? These beautifully designed antique cufflinks will delight all Boston buffs.
Since 1897, customers of the MFA have enjoyed travel on America's first subway - the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority - referred to as the "T". Several coins have been used over the past 100 years from the Miss Liberty nickel to the brass token of 1951. Today, more than 80 million tokens are sold annually. Set in sterling silver, these tokens are both fun and elegant.
Each set of Boston cufflinks use authentic transit tokens. Each set consists of different views of the Boston underground tokens. One features the "T" from which the train system got its nickname and the other features a picture of the back of a subway train. Both are surrounded with "MTBA - Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority".
Presented in a handsome padded flip-open box with velvet and satin interior lining and a map of Boston's subway lines on the top.
Makes a great gift!
